Abstract/Description
An interview with Jared Katsiane, a filmmaker whose work has been shaped through growing up in the South End in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1990, after stints living in Vermont and in and around other parts of Boston, he moved back to the South End, where he has lived since that year. Katsiane recalls early memories of the neighborhood and attending community programs hosted by the United South End Settlements (USES) at the Harriet Tubman House, and later became a volunteer and
filmmaker there in the 1990s. He also discusses his active involvement in neighborhood as an adult at the Tubman House, community events there, and the changing landscape over time.
